Vegetable Ivory:

- Vegetable ivory aslo called tagua nut is a product made from the white endosperm of the seeds which is very hard of certain palm trees.
- There are many species of palm trees providing vegetable ivory: the palm Ammandra "Tagua Blanca", Aphandra, Hyphaene, Metroxylon and Raffia Farinifera palm tree very present in China.
- Vegetable ivory is named for its resemblance to elephant ivory. A palm tree will produce between 20 and 30 kilograms of seeds (it is the weight of the two defenses of a 6 ton elephant!).
