Sumba is unepetites Sunda Islands in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. It has an estimated population of 400,000 inhabitants. About 27% of the population practices a religion called marapu. the rest is Christian, predominantly Calvinist but with a significantCatholic minority. There are a small number of Muslims in coastal areas. The first craft is the weaving of Sumba. Ikats Sumba are working wonders, and ancestral tecnhiques.Sumba is also a fertile ground for art lovers first. Wood carving on bones, chasing buffaloskulls.
Above the cap is a very rich iconography, this dress evokes front by its general form a crescent moon. Both sides of the central motif (representing the sun) there are twosalient circles surrounded by radiating patterns. This headdress is decorated with anembossed decoration, slightly raised dimples and circles. The remaining space consists of a floral frieze. A cap is called the Sumba Lamba. Worn by men on the front of the head, it forms the core of the family treasure of noble families. This cap is entirely covered with gold leaf beaten, cut and decorated to POICON.
