Emblem of prosperity, this ornament demanded sacrifices rituals. It was transmitted from father to son and belonged to the family treasure. Men of high rank, chiefs or warriorswere attached to the front on a scarf (Ikat). The base of the crown evokes the shape of a boat but also the horns of the buffalo. A Flores, buffalo assured the prestige of its owner.His shed blood on the stones of the altar of the village, should honor the ancestors. This ring is the metal version of an older model made of feathers and shells.
