Iatmul Valley Sepik, rather fishermen and crocodile hunters, are the crocodiles that have created the world: canoes and stools in the form of the animal, with its scaly skin and long jaws.
The large slit drum, carved from a hollowed trunk, topped by a head terrifying eyes, the voices of spirits.
For Iatmul of Papua New Guinea, the head contains the whole substance of being. They also keep the skulls of their ancestors who once cleaned and "surmodelés", are painted with the image of the dead.
